Happy Mother’s Day Ladies! I hope you have a wonderful day.
Today is the day to celebrate our mothers, to show them how much we love and care about them. We shower them with gifts, flowers, our time, take them out to eat and send time with them to let them know they are loved.
In this world we live in, we have many different types of mothers….all of them important. Birth mothers, step-mothers, and adoptive mothers, as well as other incredible women who make the effort to stand in the gap…filling the empty void if the mother is unable to be a mother or isn’t around any longer – grandmothers, aunts, cousins, friends of the family and even close neighbors. These women, all of them special and all of them giving of themselves, giving of their time from their hearts to touch another life and make it better.
There are also women, (like myself) that have no two-legged children, but do have four-legged children….a dog or cat or other fur-kid and love them as their baby.
When my husband passed I was 30 years old and to be honest so did the desire to have a child, a two legged child anyway. Mary is as special as can be and such a blessing in my life and I’ve found that I can mother other people’s children. My neighbors next door are a married couple barely 20 years old and have a couple of their young friends, a pair of teenage brothers living with them. Over time, I became the mom of the building so to speak and I was happy to fill that role.
I encourage you to step up and step out of your comfort zone. Give of your time and of your heart. Make a difference in someone’s life and it will change yours as well. Do be smart about who you reach out to and how you do it as well. Don’t put yourself in any type of dangerous or unsafe situation.
Until next time, Happy Mother’s Day and God bless. 🙂
